The Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) , founded in 1948, provides professional investigative services to commanders throughout the Air Force. AFOSI identifies, investigates and neutralizes criminal, terrorist, and espionage threats to personnel and resources of the Air Force and Department of Defense.
The vast majority of AFOSI's investigative activities pertain to felony crimes including murder, robbery, rape, assault, major burglaries, drug use and trafficking, sex offenses, arson, compromise of Air Force test materials, black market activities, and other criminal activities.
All new AFOSI special agent recruits receive their entry-level training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynn County, Georgia.
