Very rare and very beautiful, ca1900 Pair of Native American Northern Plains Indian / Plains Cree Bead Decorated Hide Cuffs. This outstanding Pair of turn of the 20th century Beaded Cuffs each measure approx. 8 1/4” long and 6 1/4” wide at the top opening.
This wonderful Pair of Plains Cree Hide Cuffs feature a traditional stylized leaf and floral design on the front executed using Charlotte cut red, dark blue, forest green and translucent amber colored seed beads on a translucent gray field. The beadwork is trimmed with a thin lane border as can be seen in the scans below. The Cuffs are thread sewn and lined with a patterned cotton cloth

This very rare and very beautiful, Pair of ca1900 Plains Cree Beaded Hide Cuffs is in very good condition - supple and sound with no damage or significant wear to the hide substrate. The beading is well preserved with some minimal loss mostly to the lane borders. There is some minor wear to the cloth lining. All elements of the Cuffs are original and there has been no repairs or restorations.
